Illidan Stormrage is Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage's brother, and has been locked underground for his crimes for 10,000 years by his warden, Maiev Shadowsong. He is a powerful demon hunter and magic user, and although he may resort to drastic and dark measures, his means usually justify the ends.

In game, Illidan is locked inside the Barrow Dens. If you kill Califax, the Sentinels will gain the Warden's Guild and Maiev, and the Druids will gain Illidan.

You can retrieve the Scepter of Azshara by bringing Illidan to Eldre'thalas.
